This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities
ABB Corporate Research is the innovation engine of ABB, securing our technological leadership today and into the future. We work in close collaboration with the Motion, Automation, and Electrification business areas, as well as with leading academic and industrial partners. Within a creative and highly skilled research environment, we design, build, and validate novel concepts and prototypes for both physical and digital systems, covering the full value chain from electric energy sources and grid‑connected converters to electric motors and drives.
We are offering a one‑year temporary position as R&D Principal Scientist in our Material Technology & Electromagnetics team. In this role, you will primarily support the Motion business, contributing to ABB’s continued leadership in industrial motors and drives. Success in this role requires a structured and proactive mindset, a strong technical foundation, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with advanced simulation and experimental facilities.
