Arbetsbeskrivning
At Toyota Material Handling Europe, we create the technology that keeps the world moving. Our solutions support businesses across Europe every day, combining automation, connectivity and productivity to make operations safer, smarter and more efficient.
We firmly believe in setting ideas in motion. With a strong foundation in place, we are now investing more than ever in research and development to accelerate our leadership. We are a global organisation with strong local R&D centres, working together as one team, ONE R&D. By combining local expertise with shared platforms and a common direction, we are strengthening our European R&D organisation to shape the next generation of material handling solutions. MOVE the future with us.
The Position
We are accelerating our transformation into a connected, data-driven organisation. As Head of IoT Engineering & Connected Solutions you will join the R&D management team and report directly to the SVP R&D. You will take ownership of our connected-asset and fleet telematics platform across Europe. From embedded hardware and edge connectivity to cloud-based analytics and user dashboards, you will lead the end-to-end design, deployment and scaling of connected systems that deliver real-time operational intelligence, unlock new services and future-proof our product lines.
This is a domain-building role: you will bridge R&D, product, software and systems engineering, build a cross-disciplinary engineering organisation and help define how connectivity shapes the future of material handling.
The role may require occasional travel, primarily within Europe.
Your Responsibilities
* Define and lead the IoT & connectivity roadmap, from concept to market deployment
* Architect and oversee system-level design covering hardware, software, connectivity, data ingestion and cloud/edge analytics
* Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, embedded, software, systems)
* Manage all phases of platform development: design, risk analysis, validation, supplier coordination, scalability and maintenance
* Collaborate with global partners, suppliers and cross-functional teams to align on standards, security, performance and deployment practices
* Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation and accountability across the team
* Lead recruitment, mentoring and team development to ensure long-term strength and adaptability
* Drive creation and protection of intellectual property in connected systems and technologies
* Align organisation, resources and budget to product-development goals and corporate strategy
Your Profile
* +8 years' experience in IoT, telematics, connected systems or complex integrated product development
* Proven technical leadership experience in R&D or engineering environments
* Strong systems-engineering skills with experience integrating hardware, firmware, software and connectivity components
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects from concept through delivery
* Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills to bridge engineering, product and global partners
* Strategic mindset, capable of balancing long-term vision with pragmatic implementation
* University Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering (Master's is a plus).
