Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a principal manufacturing engineer.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical leading of Manufacturing Engineering across project on assembly process.
  • Generate process specifications and assist in supplier selection for equipment and components.
  • Characterize processes, define critical parameters, and establish controls that allow measurement of process capability and monitoring of process performance.
  • Define process development plan.
  • Continuous identifying the latest technology trends in the industry and benchmarking, scouting technologies.
  • Provide technical guides to projects related to assembly process and help each engineer and team grow.
  • Provide guidance and technical direction to the process engineering team.
  • Check the feasibility of a product design change and provide feedback on whether there is a system that can produce it.
  • Key contact for assembly to link with electrode & FA. also, connection to related department.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience within new product and process development.
  • • 3+ years of experience leading, guiding and mentoring.
  • Familiar with Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), QA troubleshooting tools.
  • 6 months+ of production line experience.
  • Successful track record of leading process development projects in prototype and production environment.
  • Experience with evolving products and processes from prototype through production in a fast-growing environment ideally in the Food, Pharma, Paper & Pulp, Semiconductor, Electrochemical or similar.
  • Valuable (but not required) if experience in battery industry.

Specific skills

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus.
  • Good time management, communication, and ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high-pressured international environment.
