Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

  • Design and develop data products by collaborating with your team to build and maintain scalable data products based on business needs and requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on creating and operating data products, ensuring they align with technical standards and industry best practices.
  • Take ownership of the technical design within the product area, adhering to architectural guidelines and driving technical excellence.
  • Partner with your Product Owner to break down work packages, estimate complexity, and plan upcoming sprints.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and System Architects to ensure solutions meet organizational goals.
  • Work with modern technologies, such as Python, Apache Spark, Azure, Docker, Databricks/Snowflake, and GitHub as part of your daily toolkit.
  • Promote best practices and improve efficiency in the development and operation of data products through continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in data engineering with a strong background in modern data architecture principles.
  • Hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines in an agile environment.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and AWS, and experience in managing cloud-based data infrastructures.
  • Practical experience in data modeling, data access, and storage techniques, including hands-on work with Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster), and data streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and networking concepts.
  • A commitment to improving both code quality and the integrity of the data being managed.
  • Experience in data privacy and protection methods, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach, balancing the need for high-quality, scalable solutions with practical delivery.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in team settings, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) and familiarity with agile methodologies.

Additional expertise:

  • Experience in data governance and modern data architecture concepts, such as data mesh.
  • Ability to apply product thinking when building data solutions.
  • Familiarity with reporting and business insights generation.
  • Experience in the automotive industry (a plus).
