Starbreeze is looking for an Experienced AI Designer to our Crew.

The AI Designer at Starbreeze designs and implements the artificial intelligence systems and behaviours that make our game worlds feel alive and reactive. Working closely with gameplay programmers, game designers and engineers, you take ownership of AI features end-to-end - crafting enemy behaviours, perception systems and decision-making frameworks that create challenging, believable and engaging experiences for players.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as an AI Designer or Game Designer with a strong focus on AI systems, with at least one shipped title
• Good understanding of AI design concepts including behaviour trees, finite state machines, goal-oriented action planning and perception systems
• Hands-on experience implementing AI in Unreal Engine, including behaviour tree editors and environment query systems
• Ability to work independently on AI features end-to-end, from design through to implementation and tuning
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate AI behaviour through playtesting, data and player feedback
• Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical colleagues across disciplines
• Experience with multiplayer or live service AI design is a plus
