We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer within Direct Material to join a dynamic and strategically important area. In this role, you will work closely with our global procurement team and collaborate with key stakeholders such as R&D, Strategy & Business, and Manufacturing & Logistics to contribute to the development of world-class powertrain solutions.

Purpose

As a Senior Buyer within Direct Material, your purpose is to drive and execute strategic sourcing activities that secure quality, competitiveness, supply reliability, and sustainability within the assigned categories. Through close collaboration with Category Managers, Buyers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you contribute to the successful implementation of the global category strategy.

In this role, you are responsible for leading key sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and conducting global negotiations to ensure competitive and resilient supply solutions. By actively engaging with stakeholders across functions such as R&D, Strategy, Manufacturing, and Logistics, you enable effective collaboration and support to deliver world-class products and solutions.

Your role at Aurobay

As a Senior buyer you will:

• Drive and develop the procurement work within your category
• Responsible for identifying and implementing cost reductions, responsible for market benchmarks and supplier evaluations.
• Be the first point of supplier contact as well as responsible for cooperation with the internal stakeholders.
• Lead and perform Commercial negotiations

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you have a strong understanding of supplier management, sourcing processes, and contract negotiations in a global business environment.

You demonstrate strong business acumen and the ability to translate market insights into sourcing strategies that support competitiveness, quality, and supply reliability. Experience in driving supplier development, managing strategic supplier relationships, and leading negotiations is essential.

You are comfortable working cross-functionally and have experience collaborating with stakeholders such as R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Business teams to secure the best commercial and technical solutions.

You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to manage multiple priorities and drive procurement initiatives forward in a structured and results-oriented way. Experience working in a global organization and managing global supplier base.

In addition, you bring excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous development of your category.

Education/experience background:

• Preferably at least 5 years’ experience of procurement/commercial work including commercial negotiations and handling of legal documents.
• Strong business acumen combined with high integrity.
• You are motivated to find new solutions and opportunities and dare to challenge status quo with our suppliers and stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
