Job Description
The WACQT Research Arena - Quantum Computing (WARA-QC) is looking for a Senior Quantum Computing Application Engineer to spearhead industry collaboration projects with the aim to bring quantum computing out of the lab and apply it to real world problems.
In this role, you will lead interactions with industry partners through joint projects, work on relevant problems in close collaboration with subject matter experts from industry. You will be involved in the entire development chain, from problem identification to learning outcomes.
These projects aim to lower the barriers for Swedish industry to engage with quantum computing technologies and accelerate the development of real‑world quantum computing applications.

You will be employed by the quantum division of Chalmers Next Labs (CNL), a company within the Chalmers group. You will be employed by Chalmers Next Labs to work at the WACQT Research Arena – Quantum Computing. The job is full-time, permanent employment based in Gothenburg, Sweden. About WARA-Quantum Computing
The mission of WARA‑QC is to lower barriers for Swedish industry to engage in quantum projects and accelerate the journey from concept to deployment. The arena provides a full‑stack application center where industry and researchers co‑develop, benchmark, and trial quantum algorithms on leading hardware with expert guidance. WARA‑QC integrates Chalmers Next Labs and the WACQT Quantum Technology Testbed for direct hardware access.
This position is supported by the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT), which receives funding from Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation. WACQT is a 12-year, billion SEK initiative with the purpose of advancing Swedish academia and industry to the forefront of quantum technology, and to build a Swedish quantum computer.
