On behalf of our client, a global powertrain technology company, we are currently seeking a Design Engineer with expertise in Belt Drive Components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced hybrid powertrain solutions, driving innovation and efficiency in next generation propulsion systems.
ABOUT THE ROLE:As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and integration of belt drive components within hybrid and combustion powertrains. You will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional engineering groups to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of components that meet system requirements. The role includes leading supplier and customer meetings related to belt drive systems, defining and documenting system and component requirements to ensure performance, durability, and reliability, and conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with support from senior designers. You will validate component functionality and performance through testing and analysis, track project development, and create component time plans according to the product development process. Ensuring on-time delivery of components within quality, cost, and performance targets is a key part of the role, as well as reporting progress, challenges, and results to both the line organization and project management.
You will coordinate with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless project integration, provide technical support, and implement design changes based on test results and feedback. The position involves engagement with internal teams, including Base Engine, Analyze & Verification, Engine Calibration, and NVH, to optimize component performance and integration.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:- A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development, or a related field (equivalent experience is also acceptable).
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in design engineering within the powertrain area.
- Experience with FEAD components or rotating shaft systems, and cross-functional teamwork.
- Fluency in English.
