We work both with individual and common tasks and support each other as needed.  What You Will Be Doing In a fast-changing environment, Volvo more than ever needs a robust Supply Chain to fulfil its engagement in front of customers, shareholders, and society. To create a world class supply chain, we need you to assess installed capacity and performance of key supply partners. As Supply Partner Development Engineer you will raise risks to our organization and work with our supply partners to improve performance. We are creating a vital link between our supply chain, our factories and our customers! For that, you will apply lean principles and tools to assess manufacturing systems and complete supply chains and suggest improvements. You will coach and challenge supply partner's management to be complaint with our targets.  The ticket to ride  * To succeed in the role, we believe that you have previous experience coaching suppliers by applying lean principles and you have worked with senior management to drive changes. * In this role, you collaborate cross functionally with buyers, supplier quality engineers, cost engineers and other stakeholders. Therefore, we believe you thrive when you get to interact and team up with people. You communicate effectively and adapt to prevailing circumstances.  * With your technical background and analytical outlook, you drive improvement actions together with the supply partners. You tackle challenges as they arise and switch between the helicopter perspective and detail focus. * You monitor the installed capacity and supply chain flexibility through capacity audits (self- assessments provided by supply partners and onsite verifications). That includes managing supplier capacity issues and driving action plans to mitigate delivery and capacity constraints. * We believe you are able to drive your own agenda and to prioritize as you will often be involved in multiple tasks. In addition, you have the ability to crunch data and quantify improvements into financial measurables. You create a professional environment in which you encourage supply partners to develop themselves to improve their performance.  Main requirements  * University degree, preferably within engineering  * Strong lean background with hands-on experience of applying lean principles and tools in a pragmatic way  * Great leadership skills with ability to challenge senior management with bold new ideas and directions  * Experience from the automotive area would be a plus * Fluent in English, both written and spoken  * Ready to frequently travel to supply partners in Europe, sometimes with short notice  Curious and have questions?
