Being part of Battery Optimization and Monitoring - Technology Battery Optimization and Monitoring – Technology is a function within Volvo Energy that works with second life applications of vehicle batterypacks, monitoring and data analytics, optimization of remaining useful life, battery safety and new offerings for stationary Battery EnergyStorage Systems (BESS). Working in very close cooperation with our colleagues from Volvo Group and especially together with Group Trucks Technology, we createnew business offer opportunities as well as value propositions. What are we looking for in this specific role? We are looking for a Mechanical/Thermal Engineer to support the ongoing development of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Inyour role, you will spearhead the structural design of enclosures, internal equipment layout for ease of manufacturing, installation, andmaintenance as well as support the design of thermal management systems. Your starting point will be: • Structural design of enclosures, internal equipment layout for ease of manufacturing, installation and maintenance, cooling and firesuppression system design, design to meet various technical standards and codes. • Use Creo PTC to develop 3D CAD models of equipment enclosure structures and internal components/layouts. • Perform thermal heat transfer analysis for air cooling and/or liquid cooling systems for batteries/inverters etc. and climate control of theBESS. Qualifications likely required to be successful • Mechanical engineering background • Highly experienced with solid model design software (preferably including Creo PTC), including performing structural FEA analysis. • Experience with developing products from the concept stage through prototyping, final design, and manufacturing. • Skilled in design of air and liquid cooling systems, including fan sizing, pump sizing, pressure drop analysis, and component selection. • Knowledge of design/architecture of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and/or electromobility is a plus. • Experience within KOLA, PDM-link, or DCN releases is a merit
