About Scania:

Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to a provider of complete and sustainable transport solutions. As part of this journey, we are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our Autonomous Asset Data team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead in utilizing operational data to create valuable insights, facilitating advanced analytics, and enhancing collaborative decision-making within Scania Autonomous.

Your Role:

As a Senior Software Developer, you will architect and lead the development of advanced data pipelines that process rapid sensor streams, leverage optimal data storage solutions, and create robust APIs. Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing and implementing high-quality software using modern tools and frameworks.

- Developing a new logging solution tailored for substantial Big Data volumes and Machine Learning applications.

- Managing and processing PB+ scale data from diverse sources such as Cameras, Lidars, and Radars.

- Guiding internal research teams in adopting the latest Big Data and machine learning technologies.

Team Dynamics:

You will work with a diverse group of experts from various cultures and backgrounds, including Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. The team focuses on centralizing data while decentralizing its application, covering all aspects from requirements gathering to production and maintenance. We employ agile methodologies and are deeply committed to innovation and excellence in autonomous transport solutions.

What You Bring:

- At least ten years of experience in software development with a significant track record in large-scale projects.

- At least five years in Cloud environments specializing in Big Data.

- Expertise in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development, and Infrastructure as Code.

- Advanced knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.

- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide teams.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

- AWS or similar certifications would be highly regarded.
