Job Description

At H&M Group, technology is more than supporting the business. It's creating better experiences for customers, colleagues, and millions of people around the world.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure Solution Centre, where you'll help shape the technology that powers thousands of stores, offices, warehouses, and digital workplaces across our global business.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering, automation, infrastructure, cloud, and AI. You'll help us make complex technology simple, scalable, and accessible, enabling development teams across H&M Group to move faster and deliver better experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of a team responsible for building and evolving the platforms, services, and automation that support H&M Group's global physical technology landscape.

You will:

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that simplify and automate infrastructure delivery and operations.
• Build integrations between physical edge infrastructure environments and centralized backend services.
• Improve developer experiences through self-service capabilities, automation, and modern engineering practices.
• Contribute to platform capabilities that support stores, warehouses, offices, and edge computing solutions at scale.
• Develop solutions for monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, delivery managers, and technology teams across H&M Group.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools while ensuring high-quality, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices and mentor colleagues through your technical expertise.

WHO YOU ARE

We believe you're a curious and collaborative engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges and turning ideas into scalable solutions.

You likely have:

• Several years of experience working as a Software Engineer in complex technology environments.
• Experience working with observability and monitoring technologies, ideally including OpenTelemetry.
• Strong programming experience, preferably in Python or similar modern languages.
• Hands-on experience with container technologies such as Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern development workflows, including GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of automation, infrastructure-as-code, and platform engineering principles.
• Experience integrating systems, platforms, and APIs across different technology domains.
• An understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience working with cloud hyperscaler platforms.
• A passion for continuous learning and exploring emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software development.

What makes this role exciting

This is not a traditional software engineering role.

You'll be working in a space where software meets the physical world. From stores and warehouses to offices and edge infrastructure, you'll help create scalable platforms and automation that make technology easier to consume across H&M Group.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how infrastructure and software engineering come together, helping us create seamless developer experiences while supporting a global technology landscape.

Who you'll work with

You'll join a diverse team of engineers, architects, delivery managers, and technology specialists who are passionate about building reliable, scalable, and secure solutions. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, and we believe great ideas can come from anywhere.

Why you'll love working here

At H&M Group, we're creating meaningful technology that reaches millions of customers and supports our colleagues every day.

We offer:

• A collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your career.
• Access to modern technologies and large-scale engineering challenges.
• The chance to make a real impact on the future of retail technology.
