Are you a visionary software architect looking for a challenge that goes beyond standard app development? At Teledyne FLIR in Täby, we build the sensor systems and thermal cameras used globally in fire detection, industrial applications, and blue-light equipment. Now, we need your expertise to shape the brain inside these life-saving products.

We are on a journey to centralize and streamline our Linux-based product offerings into one robust, unified software platform. As our new Embedded Software Architect, you will own the long-term vision, architecture, and roadmap for our Android/AOSP-based platform.

This is a high-impact, strategic, and hands-on role. You will be the technical anchor for our R&D, tasked with balancing urgent product needs with sustainable, scalable, and reusable strategies. You won’t just maintain an architecture; you will define it.

Responsibilities

• Drive Platform Strategy: Own the long-term architectural vision for our software platform, balancing urgent product needs with sustainable, reusable strategies.
• Lead Integration: Facilitate cross-functional synchronization across multiple teams to ensure scale, performance, and security.
• Translate Requirements: Collaborate with product management to convert system and business needs into high-level platform technical requirements.
• Technical Leadership: Act as the primary spokesperson for the platform area, guiding engineering decisions and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Drive Modernization: Lead the effort to centralize and streamline our Linux-based product offerings into a robust, unified platform.

Qualifications

We believe you thrive at the intersection of complex software, system engineering, and product development. You are a strategic problem-solver with a proven track record of leading technical decisions and successfully managing multiple product launches.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• Deep, hands-on expertise in Android platform architecture, AOSP, and embedded Linux.
• A strong background in embedded software development and system integration.
• The capacity to influence stakeholders and teams through clear, technical communication.
• Fluency in English (professional proficiency in Swedish is a merit).
• A relevant academic degree (e.g., M.Sc. in Computer Science/Engineering) OR equivalent deep, practical experience in the field.
