Job Overview

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer for a consulting assignment focused on developing and optimizing user-facing functionality within a large-scale consumer application. The role involves building features used frequently by a substantial user base, where interaction quality, performance, and responsiveness are critical.

You will develop new iOS capabilities, improve existing user journeys, and collaborate closely with Android, backend, product, design, and data teams. You will also contribute to testing, performance optimization, engineering tools, and the continuous improvement of development processes. The assignment may include leading cross-team initiatives spanning multiple platforms and codebases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality features for a large-scale iOS application.
• Improve existing user flows with a strong focus on interaction quality, responsiveness, and performance.
• Write clear, idiomatic, maintainable Swift code aligned with modern iOS engineering practices.
• Apply Cocoa design patterns and effective API design principles.
• Integrate mobile functionality with backend systems and services.
• Contribute to application testing, performance analysis, engineering tooling, and development process improvements.
• Collaborate across iOS, Android, backend, product, design, and data disciplines.
• Lead or support initiatives that span multiple teams, platforms, and codebases.
• Use AI agent tools and agent-based development methods to support engineering workflows.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• i OS and Swift: Deep expertise in modern native iOS application development and the Swift programming language.
• Cocoa: Strong knowledge of Cocoa design patterns and platform conventions.
• API design and backend integration: Strong understanding of API design and how mobile applications interact with backend systems.
• UI performance: Demonstrated experience optimizing user interfaces with demanding performance and responsiveness requirements.
• AI-assisted development: Experience with AI agent tools and agent-based engineering approaches, including tools such as Cursor and Claude.
• Advantageous experience: Knowledge of C++, Android development, or engineering across multiple platforms and codebases.

Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of eight years of professional iOS development experience is required. The successful consultant will have deep knowledge of modern iOS engineering, Swift, Cocoa design patterns, API design, backend integration, and performance-sensitive user interface development. Experience with AI agent tools and agent-based development methods is also required. C++, Android, and broader cross-platform development experience are advantageous. The role requires effective collaboration in a cross-functional environment and a strong commitment to engineering quality, continuous learning, and shared team outcomes.
