🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior Fault Tracing Engineer – Electrical & Electronics | Automotive Systems

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced System Verification / Fault Tracing Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment with a leading organization in the commercial automotive and transportation industry.

🔧 About the Role

You will join a cross-functional engineering team focused on identifying and resolving systematic quality issues within electrical and electronic (EE) systems.

Your responsibilities will cover the full fault investigation process, from analyzing field reports and understanding reported symptoms to identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions. Depending on the issue, your work may involve system architecture, hardware components, software functions, wiring installations, or electronic control units.

The role combines hands-on troubleshooting with system-level analysis, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and continuous product improvement.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and troubleshoot systematic quality issues involving electrical and electronic systems.
• Analyze field reports, technical data, and system behavior to identify root causes.
• Break down complex technical problems into manageable investigations while maintaining an overall system perspective.
• Contribute to corrective actions and implementation of robust technical solutions.
• Analyze issues across hardware, software, functions, and system integration.
• Investigate components and systems such as wiring harnesses, cable installations, ECUs, software functions, alternators, driver assistance systems, diagnostics, and telematics.
• Collaborate with development, testing, implementation, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
• Support verification and validation activities where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of products, services, and engineering processes.
• Lead smaller technical investigations independently and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
• Help improve product quality, system reliability, and customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle.

✅ Required Skills & Experience

We are looking for a technically strong engineer with several years of experience in the automotive industry.

• Several years of automotive experience with a technical background in one or more electrical and electronic engineering areas.
• Experience in fault tracing, system design, component development, or verification and validation.
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including hardware, software, and system-level interactions.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of the automotive product lifecycle, from early concept and development through production and maintenance.
• Ability to lead technical investigations independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A structured and analytical approach, with attention to critical details and an understanding of the overall system.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• A genuine commitment to product quality and continuous improvement.

⭐ Nice to Have

Experience with the following tools, methods, or capabilities is an advantage:

• Saber and CATIA V5.
• CANalyzer and CANoe.
• IPEtronik or other measurement, simulation, and logging equipment.
• Automotive diagnostics, system verification, and fault-tracing tools.
• Commercial vehicle development processes, engineering methods, and technical IT systems.
• A Category D bus driving license.

Previous experience with the client's organization or its wider industrial group is an advantage, but relevant experience from other automotive manufacturers and commercial vehicle environments is also valuable.
