The role

We are looking for a backend developer with around five years of professional experience and strong analytical skills. You should have a solid foundation in computer science and experience working with backend systems in a professional environment.

In this role, you will help shape and build software solutions – with a focus on scalability, robustness, and performance. You will work in a modern technical environment that includes databases, APIs, and cloud services. We primarily use Python, but experience from other backend environments is also highly valuable.

We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding the system as a whole: from design principles and architecture to performance, maintainability, and operational quality. You take pride in doing things the right way and want to build systems that stand the test of time.

You are passionate about maintainable systems and sound software development principles.

Examples of what your work may involve:

• Working together with our system architect to further develop patterns, conventions, and reference implementations.
• Driving pragmatic, step-by-step improvements to architecture and code quality.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend components for flight optimization services, either in a full-stack team or in a dedicated backend team.
• Contribute to the development of our architecture and software development practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with a focus on scalability and long-term quality.
• Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement new functionality.
• Help ensure that our new API-first architecture is clear, stable, and easy to build upon.
• Contribute to improving system performance, stability, and observability.
• Be part of a cross-functional team where the software goes directly into production and is used around the world.

We are looking for someone who has

• A university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Around five years of professional experience in backend development.
• Experience working with AI-assisted development to maximize both quality and delivery capability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good understanding of software design principles such as SOLID and DRY, as well as backend concepts such as message queues, APIs, data modeling, and security.
• Experience with at least one major backend language. Experience with Python is an advantage.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A self-driven way of working and a genuine motivation to build robust and maintainable systems.
• Very good communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in Swedish and English.
