THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced HR Compliance Lead to join our People & Communication team. In this new role, you will play a key part in translating complex Nordic employment law into pragmatic and effective ways of working, while shaping our employment practices, HSE frameworks, and employee relations across the region.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Nordic Employment Law Expertise: A legal degree with 5–10 years of relevant experience in Nordic labour and employment law, from an in-house or law firm environment. Strong Nordic knowledge with particular depth in the Norwegian context.
• Pragmatic Approach: Ability to turn complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear frameworks, guidance and practical ways of working – and have the drive to follow through from requirement to implementation.
• Employee Relations & Union Experience: Proven track record in managing complex and sensitive cases and collaborating effectively with trade unions and employee representatives, focusing on Norway and Sweden.
• Broader HR Compliance Perspective: Interest in and ability to work across broader People & Culture related regulatory requirements beyond traditional employment law.
• Collaboration & Capability Building: Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders at all levels across the Nordics, sharing expertise and building the confidence and capability of others.
• Influence & Communication: A calm, grounded, and clear communication style that builds trust and with the confidence to advise, challenge and influence. Fluency in English is required; working knowledge or fluency in Norwegian is an advantage

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

As our HR Compliance Lead, you will ensure our people practices remain robust, equitable, and aligned across the Nordic region. Serving as Vend’s subject matter expert on Nordic labour law and HR compliance, you will advise People Partners and business leaders through organizational changes, complex employee relations cases, and union interactions.

In this role, you will oversee our Nordic HR compliance framework and HSE governance, developing practical guidelines and tools that facilitate informed decision-making for leadership and build compliance capability across P&C. Additionally, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across Reward, Legal, Privacy, and Security to address cross-functional regulatory requirements within an AI-driven business landscape.

Nordic labor laws and regulatory frameworks are continuously evolving, requiring an approach that balances compliance with operational agility. In this role, you will proactively navigate these changes without introducing restrictive bureaucracy. You will transform regulatory requirements into modern, scalable solutions that protect the organization while keeping our culture open, warm, and deeply human.
