VX Fiber is looking for Senior Full Stack Developers to build our SaaS platform for fibre network operations. This is not a role for someone who wants to sit at the end of a requirements pipeline and turn tickets into code. We are looking for developers who want to understand the problem, shape the solution, and use both traditional engineering and agentic coding tools to take ideas all the way into production.

What you will do

Own problems from unclear requirement to production. Help define the use case, work out what should be built, propose the technical approach, implement it, verify that it works, and follow it in production.

Our product teams are split between OSS and BSS+, with the work regularly crossing service and team boundaries.

The problems are specific, but the rules and dependencies around them can get complicated. An edge-site outage may require us to work out which ISPs are affected from network topology, while accounting for subscribers on redundant paths. An ISP expanding into a new city may sell subscriptions before the handover exists, then need those subscriptions to activate automatically once the network is ready.

You will:

• Clarify requirements with Product and Design, working directly with engineers and domain experts.
• Design services and data models. Propose architectural changes for Staff Engineers and Architects to review.
• Build mainly backend software, while being comfortable enough in the frontend to own a feature across the stack.
• Design tests around failure modes. Cover retries, bad data and unavailable dependencies.
• Treat operability and developer experience as part of feature development. Use logs, metrics and traces to understand production behaviour, and work with the Platform team to improve deployment, local development and feedback loops.
• Work hands-on with agents and harnesses, including context orchestration and agentic pipelines.
• Improve the team through reviews, mentoring and technical discussion.

Our backend is mostly Go, with Protobuf and gRPC between services. GraphQL sits between those services and a React/TypeScript frontend. Postgres is our direction of travel, with some Mongo legacy. Temporal handles workflows. Our application platform uses Nomad, Consul and Vault on AWS, deployed in Europe and South Africa. Experience with any of the above are not a requirement.

What we look for

We care about whether you perform at a senior level. Years of experience and formal degrees are not criteria.

A senior developer here should be able to take an unclear problem, create enough structure to move forward, and deliver software that works in production.

Experience we value:

• Strong backend engineering experience in any language.
• Shipped and operated SaaS products as part of a product team.
• Broad systems design skills and good data design judgement. Be able to make architectural proposals and discuss trade-offs.
• Practical experience with testing and failure modes, plus observability in production.
• Hands-on experience with modern agentic development, including harnesses and context orchestration.

Telecom experience weighs heavily. Experience with OSS/BSS or network automation is valuable, as is fibre or wholesale telecom knowledge. It is not a hard requirement.

Good taste matters. Know when complexity is justified, when an abstraction helps, and when it gets in the way. You are familiar with DDD, KISS, 12 factor apps and similar frameworks/patterns, and can reason about their merits and drawbacks. Care about APIs, data models and maintainability, and know when the best decision is to build nothing.

People who do well here take ownership, make good calls with incomplete information, and make other engineers better.
