Core Technology Change & Delivery is seeking an experienced Lead Project Leader to drive strategic AI and cloud transformation initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will lead the delivery and governance of Google Cloud AI platform capabilities, establish scalable and reusable AI services, and coordinate complex dependencies across cloud foundations, security, data, architecture and engineering domains.

You will help shape the AI platform roadmap, drive adoption of cloud-native AI capabilities and ensure that strategic AI ambitions are translated into executable delivery plans and measurable business outcomes. The role combines strategic leadership, programme governance, stakeholder management and hands-on delivery leadership across multiple technology domains.

What you'll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic GCP AI and cloud transformation programmes, from ideation and planning through implementation and value realisation.
• Drive execution of Google Cloud and AI platform roadmaps, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, architecture direction and delivery plans.
• Coordinate dependencies across architecture, cloud engineering, security, identity and access management, network, data, platform and business teams.
• Drive delivery of shared, reusable AI platform capabilities that support scalable onboarding of use cases and teams.
• Shape and maintain programme plans, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Establish effective programme governance, decision forums and reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, regulatory, resilience and operational requirements.
• Support the development of a sustainable cloud operating model, including platform ownership, service management, cost transparency and operational readiness.
• Proactively identify delivery obstacles, resolve escalations and drive decisions across organisational boundaries.
• Promote a strong delivery culture based on ownership, transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.

Your background and skills include:

• Proven track record of leading large-scale technology programmes and strategic transformation initiatives in cloud, data or AI environments.
• Strong experience driving delivery and governance of Google Cloud Platform initiatives across multiple technology domains.
• Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform services, cloud foundations, platform engineering and cloud operating model principles.
• Experience establishing and evolving cloud and AI platform capabilities that enable scalable adoption of AI solutions across an enterprise.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic workflows, AI orchestration frameworks and emerging cloud-based capabilities.
• Ability to define and drive strategic roadmaps, translate them into executable delivery plans and ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
• Experience coordinating complex dependency landscapes across architecture, cloud engineering, security, identity and access management, network, data and business teams.
• Strong governance and leadership skills, including establishing decision forums, steering committees and executive reporting structures.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across multiple organisational units and technology domains.
• Understanding of platform-oriented delivery models, including shared services, reusable capabilities, automated onboarding and self-service enablement.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, resilience, scalability, operational readiness and cloud financial management principles.
• Proven ability to proactively identify delivery risks, resolve impediments and drive successful outcomes in complex environments.
• Very good financial and resource management skills.
• Very good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced presentation skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent English skills, both spoken and written.
• Can-do attitude.
