Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom.
It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.
We are participating in a project where STEGRA (H2 Green Steel) establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas.
Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing
We now want to employ a Technical Office Engineer
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Technical Office or similar engineering position.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to review, modify, and prepare technical drawings.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Previous experience working on industrial, construction, or large-scale projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare progress reports, quantity measurements, and supporting documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain daily site/activity reports, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded.
- Prepare, update, organize, and distribute technical drawings and drawing revisions to the relevant personnel and project teams.
- Prepare and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and follow up with the relevant parties until resolution.
- Review project requirements and, where necessary, modify or redesign technical drawings and project details in coordination with the responsible engineers.
- Monitor and report man-hour utilization and productivity data and coordinate this information with the Planning Engineers.
- Maintain proper control and distribution of project correspondence, technical documentation, and related records.
- Assist the project team with quantity take-offs, progress measurement, cost-related documentation, and other technical office activities as required.
- Coordinate with site teams, engineering disciplines, planning, procurement, and other relevant departments to ensure the timely flow of technical information.
- Ensure that technical documentation is properly organized, updated, and maintained in accordance with project procedures.
- Support the Project Management team in the preparation of technical and contractual documentation when required.
