The Core Systems team at Sharkmob is responsible for the features and performance of the game engine we’re using – Unreal 5. We are now looking to add a new team member with experience in game engine development.

As a senior engineer on the team, you’re comfortable guiding others through your thought process and explaining how and why a particular solution does or does not work. You showcase a strong ability to find work that needs to be done, and to carry it out all the way to completion, and you can prioritize work according to the needs of the project.

Some examples of what we’ll be doing:

• Multi-platform development

• Improve performance and stability of our game

• Implement and adapt rendering features, such as modern lighting techniques, that support our game’s goals for visual fidelity

• Find, diagnose, understand and fix crashes in low level systems

• Experience in C++ and shader programming

• Understanding of CPU and GPU architecture

• Experience improving upon and working in a feature-rich game engine

You are committed to high technical standards as well as contributing to a good workplace for yourself and the team around you. You work with purpose, and colleagues in other disciplines are appreciative of your ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.

It’s great if you also have experience in:

• Working with Unreal Engine

• PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X development

• Modern rendering pipelines (such as DirectX 12/Vulkan)

Sharkmob is a Swedish game developer founded in 2017. We create AAA-quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power our ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights. We are currently developing Exoborne, our first original IP. In 2022, we released Bloodhunt, a battle royale set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe.
