In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, customers, and experienced engineers to shape and build innovative financial services in a rapidly changing market.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about building exceptional customer experiences within retail banking and financial services.

We operate as a true product team, not a collection of individuals working through separate backlogs. We solve problems together through continuous collaboration. Rather than relying on heavyweight processes and detailed upfront planning, we value fast feedback, experimentation, and iterative delivery.

A key part of our engineering approach is using AI-powered development practices and agentic workflows. We are looking for engineers who embrace this with evolving pace and excited to help shape how we build modern software.

You will work closely with colleagues across the bank and directly with customers: effective communication skills, and relationship-building just as important as technical expertise.

We favor serverless architectures, managed cloud services, and modern engineering practices that allow us to move quickly while maintaining security, reliability, and scalability. We focus our energy on solving customer problems rather than managing infrastructure.

On a personal level

We believe you have experience in...

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript

• Comfortable working across both frontend and backend

• Hands-on experience with AWS-based systems

• Experience deploying and operating services in production

• Solid technical judgement within own area of responsibility

• Able to reason about trade-offs across frontend, backend and cloud architecture with support from senior engineers

• Comfortable taking technical decisions with end-to-end responsibility.

  Meriting skills

• Serverless solution design in AWS

• Knowledge of IAM and security patterns in AWS

• Experience owning services or components in production
