We are now looking for a Fire Engineer who will be a part of our department at TPC. As a Fire Engineer, you will be involved in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities, providing technical support for design, testing and commissioning, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and safety standards. We believe that you have knowledge and experience, capable of acting as a design authority, preparing comprehensive project documents, and interacting with customers and contractors. If you enjoy cost-effective, high-quality solutions and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!

Our team culture is flexible and cooperative with the highest regards for safety and occupational health.

This role is based in either Ludvika (Sweden), Mannheim (Germany) or Glasgow (Scotland).

How you'll make an impact

  • Ensure fire detection and fire protection system designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and HVDC-specific requirements.
  • Develop and maintain requirement specifications, technical documentation, and design deliverables based on customer requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with multiple engineering disciplines throughout all project phases, from design and engineering through testing and commissioning.
  • Proactively identify potential technical challenges, risks, and project constraints, and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support the onboarding, training, and coaching of new team members and provide technical guidance to customers when required.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and engineering teams across different functions and geographical locations, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, monitor progress, and take timely actions to address technical issues and project needs.
  • Develop fire detection and protection system concepts for HVDC tenders, including identifying required clarifications, assumptions, and deviations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support tender cost estimation and budgeting activities related to fire detection and protection systems.
  • Perform technical risk assessments of proposed tender solutions and implement appropriate mitigation measures to ensure robust and compliant designs
  • Develop and maintain Fire Concepts / Fire Strategies for buildings and HVDC facilities, translating fire safety objectives into compliant and practical fire protection solutions.

Your Background

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety, Risk Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of fire codes, standards, regulations, and fire safety principles, with the ability to apply them in practical engineering environments.
  • Experience with fire modeling, fire simulation tools, or related analytical methods used to assess fire safety and performance requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and explain technical concepts clearly.

We recognize that candidates may have gained relevant expertise through different combinations of education, professional experience, and industry training, and we encourage applicants with transferable skills to apply.
