In this role you will implement the Hitachi Energy Global Trade Program (GTP) at country level, together with other Country Trade Compliance Officer.
You will be reporting to the Country Trade Compliance Manager (CTCM), Anne Lintala.
The position is based in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden.

How you’ll make an impact
- Drive and coordinate country-level execution (Sweden) of the Global Trade Management program, in line with centralization strategy
- Manage and adapt country-specific trade policies and procedures in line with Swedish customs and export control laws, in coordination with the CTCM
- Train and support Business Units on trade-related topics such as export controls, customs compliance, sensitive countries, screening, trade flows, and duty spend
- Proactively identify and communicate potential risks and trade issues to key stakeholders, including Business Units and regional/global trade leadership
- Act as a key advisor on trade compliance, consulting the CTCM and escalating issues to regional and global heads when needed
- Support implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of trade tools and automation (e.g., SAP GTS), as well as internal and external audits
- Champion Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking accountability while supporting colleagues and the broader business
Your Background:
- Degree in trade, law, economics, international relations/business, or a related field (graduate or postgraduate required; EU legal qualification or international trade background preferred)
- Experience from Hitachi Energy or a similar industry is essential, bringing strong understanding of complex products, processes, and regulatory environments
- Minimum 5+ years of in-house experience in export controls, sanctions, customs compliance, and supply chain compliance and optimization
- Strong specialist knowledge of EU trade regulations and sanctions frameworks
- Fluency in both written and spoken Swedish and English; additional Nordic or European languages (e.g., Norwegian, Danish, Estonian, Finnish) are a plus
- Solid understanding of SAP systems, with SAP GTS experience considered a strong advantage
- Knowledge of material master data and product classification (HS/ECN) is highly valued
