The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a Transport & Logistics Specialist and play a key role in managing the entire end-to-end purchasing process.
At this position you will be responsible for requirements’ definition, preferred supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting.
You will set the budget both in Tender and in Project Execution as well as shipping Heavy-Lift equipment globally.
You will act as the main interface between internal stakeholders, customers, and freight forwarders.
You’ll work in line with established quality, safety, and compliance standards, ensuring everything you do meets both internal guidelines and legal requirements.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Act as Project Manager for Transport, Trade, and Logistics, ensuring adherence to KPIs for safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation, and sustainability.
- Proactively support project and logistics planners, and address transport challenges with suppliers.
- Develop, plan, and implement Transport and Logistics strategy focusing on creating E2E transport budgets as input for tenders, optimizing transport portfolio, costs, quality and minimizing the risks.
- Oversee transportation logistics for worldwide projects, including feasibility, budgeting, planning, sourcing, contracting, and negotiation, while also evaluating road surveys, storage areas, port capacities, and technical solutions for efficient lashing and lifting plans.
- Investigate and improve transport quality and drive continuous improvement projects to mitigate them.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risk, support HVDC site design, and interact with stakeholders tender and project execution.
- Ensure shipping compliance with all local and Global Regulations, project timelines and transportation budget.
Your background
- Proven experience and background in Heavy‑Lift transport and sourcing, site operations and shipping, with hands‑on responsibility for cargos exceeding 200 tons.
- Experience delivering large, complex projects end-to-end, from tendering and planning through execution and final delivery, is an advantage.
- Curiosity and sense of ownership, with the confidence to challenge yourself and improve existing ways of working.
- Energetic, motivated and self-confident team player with communicative and collaborative skills, with experience in multicultural and challenging global business environments.
- Very good administration skills, as well as strong analytical and organizational skills, even under stress and pressure.
- Very good analytical and problem solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities in parallel and perform effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Fluent in English is required.
