About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced BI Developer to support and enhance a large-scale decision support environment used across the organization. This platform serves over 2,000 users and consolidates data from multiple domains, including healthcare, public transport, finance, and HR.

The client is currently evolving from a traditional on-premise BI setup to a more modern, flexible data platform incorporating hybrid solutions, self-service capabilities, and AI-driven insights.

Role Overview

As a BI Developer, you will contribute to both the development of new BI solutions and the enhancement of existing systems. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders from early-stage requirements gathering through to delivery, ensuring high-quality and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data integrations, data warehouses, analytical models, and reporting solutions
• Participate in requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical BI solutions
• Design and enhance tabular data models aligned with best practices (e.g., Kimball methodology)
• Create and manage interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI (on-premise)
• Take ownership of both small and large BI initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business units and project stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous platform improvements, including evaluation of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Fabric
• Ensure adherence to established development standards, processes, and governance frameworks
• Actively support knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team

Technology Stack & Tools

• BI Platform: Microsoft BI Stack (SQL Server 2022, SSIS, SSAS)
• Reporting: Power BI (on-premise and cloud)
• Data Modeling: Kimball methodology (tabular models)
• Additional Tools: Azure DevOps (source control, build, and release management – preferred)

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of experience working with Microsoft BI platform (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS)
• Proven experience in BI development within large-scale organizations
• At least one full-time BI development assignment (minimum 6 months) in a similar environment
• Strong expertise in data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling (Kimball)
• Experience working with tabular models and enterprise BI solutions

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI (both on-premise and cloud versions)
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for development lifecycle management

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred)

Language Requirements

• Swedish proficiency is typically expected in similar assignments

Work Model (Job Mode)

• Fully on-site role at the client’s premises in Falun
• Work may be adjusted as per agreement with the client

Additional Information

• The consultant will be part of an Agile team of approximately 15 members
• Strong emphasis on collaboration, structured development practices, and quality delivery
• Regular status reporting to the client’s appointed manager is required
• The assignment includes both development and ongoing maintenance responsibilities
