international education, seeks a dynamic and experienced Deputy Principal of Primary
School to join its leadership team. This role is crucial to ensuring academic excellence and
fostering a nurturing environment that aligns with the school’s vision, values, mission, and
principles of inclusivity and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborative Leadership
● Actively contribute to the Senior Leadership Team and Primary School Leadership
Team, ensuring alignment with the overall school vision, mission, values, and
objectives.
● Support the Director and Principal of Primary School in implementing school policies,
initiatives, and long-term goals.
● Serve as a role model for students and staff, embodying the school’s values of
curiosity, resilience, and respect.
● Take on the Principal of Primary School’s responsibilities when required, providing
strong and reliable leadership in their absence.
Leadership of Learning
● Support the Principal in leading and developing teaching and learning across the
Primary School (Years N-6).
● Lead initiatives to embed evidence-based teaching practices, encouraging innovative
approaches that enhance student outcomes.
● Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the British National
Curriculum, IPC, and IB Diploma Programme, ensuring differentiation and inclusivity
to meet the needs of all students, leading to academic excellence.
● Monitor and enhance assessment, reporting, and performance tracking to improve
student outcomes.
● Coordinate professional development programmes for all learning-focused staff to
enhance curriculum design, pedagogy, subject expertise, and effective classroom
practices.
● Act as a mentor and coach for teachers, building a culture of collaboration and
professional growth.
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
● Oversee the pastoral care and wellbeing frameworks to ensure the emotional and
social well-being of all students.
● Develop and oversee pastoral programmes that promote emotional intelligence,
resilience, inclusivity, and global citizenship skills.
● Work closely with all staff to implement effective behaviour management strategies
that foster a positive and respectful learning environment.
● Lead initiatives to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school
community.
● Act as a liaison with parents, ensuring clear communication and collaborative
approaches to student welfare.
Operational and Administrative Support
● Assist the Principal of Primary School in daily operations, including timetabling,
resource allocation, and facilities management.
● Assist the Principal of Primary School in adherence to policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and
compliance.
● Take an active role in organising school events, workshops, and initiatives, including
community events, cultural celebrations, parent-teacher conferences, and
extracurricular activities that enhance the student experience.
● Contribute to the recruitment, induction, and retention of high-quality teaching staff.
● Support the Principal of Primary School in managing budgets effectively, ensuring
resources are used efficiently to enhance teaching and learning.
● Teaching and Classroom Support: Carry a 25% teaching load assigned to fixed
classes, with the flexibility to provide additional classroom coverage as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal of Primary School.
