Moleculent is now hiring an experienced Software Lead to take ownership of the development of a next-generation product for life science analysis. This includes shaping technical architecture, driving development, and building a high-performing software team.

Moleculent develops advanced technology that enables a deeper understanding of the molecular foundation of human biology. The team behind the company has a strong track record of building successful companies and products within life science and diagnostics.

As Software Lead at Moleculent, you will manage a small team of Software Developers and Test Engineers. You will mentor and guide team members, support recruitment efforts, and help build a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

This role combines technical leadership with people and delivery responsibility, and you are expected to stay close enough to the technology to support architectural decisions when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support an agile team of 5-10 software developers and test engineers

• Drive architectural decisions and ensure the quality of the software products

• Plan and execute software development projects, from backlog management to team execution

• Engage in active dialogue with stakeholders to align priorities and goals

• Work closely with customers and users to understand needs and ensure the product delivers value

Moleculent is a dynamic startup, and as a Software Lead, you'll need to be ready to roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever necessary to drive our success.

To fit the role, you should have a BSc or MSc in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related field. You should also have experience leading and developing software teams.

You have a solid technical background in software development and feel comfortable engaging in architectural discussions and guiding technical decisions, even if you are not coding on a daily basis.

Experience working with complex software products, ideally involving data processing, analysis, or distributed systems, is highly valuable. Experience within Life Science is a plus, but not a strict requirement.

Your background likely includes:

• Experience as a software developer, combined with team or technical leadership

• Experience working with modern software architectures and development practices

• Familiarity with Python or similar languages used in data-intensive environments

• Experience working with distributed systems or asynchronous processes

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate across teams and stakeholders. You are comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic and evolving environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Solna, Stockholm.
