Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Autonomous vehicles, connectivity and electromotive challenge Scania's Research and Development organisation in a new way and therefore we are facing an exciting transformation towards a flow driven, scaled agile, process as well as new technical challenges.

Role Summary

We are a team of 16 development engineers and one group manager. We are a diverse team in terms of age, life experience, education, and cultural background. What unites us is our interest in electrical systems. At Customized Truck Development, we are responsible for the design of the electrical HW and cable harnesses to meet our customer demands. With the increasing amount and complexity of electrical systems within our trucks combined with the electrification of the driveline, we are currently seeking a committed and innovative individual designer with leadership qualities to strengthen our team.

Job Responsibilities

You will take design lead and be responsible for the electrics in our projects and products regarding electrification in such as Battery Electric Vehicle. It means close cross functional collaboration with other areas such as mechanical design, production, market and purchasing. As an electrical designer at Customized Truck Development, you need to analyse customer requests and brake them down into actions. Usually, this means defining and reusing electric parts and cable harnesses from the existing Scania modular system and/or writing hardware specifications, designing new circuit diagrams, cable harnesses, cable routings, and mounting instructions. You’ll verify the design during test assembly together with production. Perform functionality and hardware test by yourself or with the support from our testing departments initiated by you.

You prefer to be a generalist rather than a specialist and enjoy having several ongoing tasks with short lead times. You need to have high stress tolerance and high work capability. You are sociable and a team player but also capable of working independently and taking the initiative. You’re not afraid to break new ground, doing mistakes and learn from them. You can organize and plan both for your own and others’ deliveries. You are a team player with leadership skills.

· You have an academic education at university level (Bachelor or Master) within electrical, mechatronic, or automotive engineering.

· You have experience in 3D-modeling, preferably in CatiaV5.

· You have experience in 2D-modeling, preferably in Saber ESD or Capital.

· You have working experience of 2 to 5 years in product development.

· Work experience from the automotive industry as a design engineer or from a relevant cross-functional area.

· Professional fluency in English is required, fluency in Swedish is beneficial.

· Driver’s license for a car
