About the role

We’re looking for Software Engineers to help shape the future of hiring. You’ll work across our stack to build products that make hiring fair, predictive, and delightful — for everyone. As a Software Engineer at Alva Labs, you'll have a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize hiring. This hybrid role is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

What You'll Work On

• Design, build, and maintain features across the stack — frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• 
  
• Take ownership of features end-to-end, from technical design to implementation, deployment, and iteration.
• 
  
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, designers, ML engineers, and product managers to turn ideas into intuitive experiences.
• 
  
• Drive projects through the full lifecycle: planning, shipping, learning, and improving.

What We're Looking For

• Solid experience building and shipping products end-to-end.
• 
  
• Strong skills in modern frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend development (Python/Node.js).
• 
  
• Solid understanding of software design principles and writing scalable, performant code.
• 
  
• A product mindset – you can balance speed with long-term thinking and make well-reasoned decisions.
• 
  
• A collaborative spirit – you thrive in cross-functional teams with product, design, data, and ML.
• 
  
• Fluent English is a requirement for this role.

Our Hiring Process

• Complete objective screening with Alva’s own tests.

• Have a quick intro call with our Talent team.

• Complete a practical coding exercise at home, followed by a collaborative session to walk through your solution and extend it live.

• Participate in a combined session to dive into product thinking and collaboration, followed by a close-out chat to discuss Alva’s vision and culture.
• 
  
• Complete a background & ID check.
