ROLE SUMMARY

As a Flow Initiative Owner, Conventional Engine, you will manage and develop engineering processes or act as a highly specialized engineering professional with a clear impact on business performance and cross-functional processes. The role focuses on driving structured improvements within conventional engine development by owning initiatives that strengthen flow, quality, and efficiency across engineering processes.

You will work closely with stakeholders within TRATON Group R&D to ensure that engineering methods, standards, and solutions support robust product and process development aligned with business needs.


JOB RESPONSIBILITES

  • Process Design Engineering

Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of methods, process steps, and required plant, machinery, and equipment. You will support the design and continuous improvement of manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver end products within defined cost and quality parameters.


  • Engineering Solutions Design

Contribute to the design of engineering solutions by defining feasibility testing approaches and supervising their implementation to support the development and validation of solutions.


  • Engineering Standards Specification

Contribute to the analysis of information, drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and evaluation of their effectiveness within your engineering discipline. This includes supporting engineering work internally as well as guiding suppliers, contractors, and consultants.


  • Engineering Inspections

Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering work and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures. Specify remedial actions required to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.


  • Needs Assessment

Explore identified issues or needs by establishing potential root causes, barriers, and related challenges to enable effective and sustainable solutions.


  • Improvement and Innovation

Identify shortcomings and propose improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures. Deliver a structured plan for defined elements of a change management initiative, with guidance from a project or program manager.


  • Knowledge Management

Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver defined outcomes within your area of responsibility and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.


  • Product and Solution Development

Define and deliver products and services that meet customer and business needs by selecting and applying the most suitable approaches within established systems and frameworks.


WHO YOU ARE

You are an experienced engineering professional with a strong process mindset and the ability to work both analytically and practically. You are comfortable taking ownership of initiatives, collaborating across functions, and translating complex engineering requirements into structured improvements.

You bring:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering or a related field
  • Solid experience in engineering processes, standards, and solution development
  • The ability to assess needs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive change in a structured way
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration skills within a complex, matrix organization
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with attention to quality, compliance, and business impact
