Development Engineer - Mechanics R&D

We are looking for an experienced development engineer to join one of our business unit teams. At Aimpoint, you will work in a cross-functional, agile team with committed colleagues, taking responsibility for both new development and product maintenance. You will influence the product lifecycle, grow technically, and contribute to improvements visible in production.

As a Development Engineer - Mechanics, you will:

• Participate in and drive the development process from concept and design to prototyping, verification, industrialization, and product maintenance.

• Work in a cross-functional team including product owners, scrum masters, mechanical engineers, electronics and software developers, production engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing.

• Take responsibility for test strategies, design decisions, manufacturing documentation, and documentation in accordance with applicable requirements and standards.

• Initiate and implement improvements to manufacturing methods and introduce them into production.

• Collaborate closely with suppliers in technical discussions.

Key responsibilities:

• Take ownership of mechanical design in technical development projects.

• Concept development, detailed design, and verification.

• Prototype development and testing.

• Prepare manufacturing documentation and fixtures.

• Product maintenance and troubleshooting for existing products.

We are seeking someone with:

• A Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent, in mechanical product development.

• Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Extensive experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).

Preferred skills and experiences:

· Design for volume manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) and GD&T.

• Material and process expertise - plastic design, molding and casting processes, and metal machining.

• Understanding of dynamic forces, such as recoil loads.

• Experience with PLM systems and FEM analyses.

· Cross-functional experience within areas such as electromechanics, optics, testing, and quality.

• Industry-specific merits - knowledge of weapon systems; competitive shooting, hunting or military.

The salary range for this position is 45.000- 57.000 SEK per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
