At Axis Communications we are passionate about creating a smarter and safer world! Do you want to be part of a team developing features for the next generation Axis products? We are now looking for an embedded developer to join the Fixed Dome Firmware team at our HQ in Lund, Sweden. ​

Who is your future team? You will be an important part of one of our feature teams at the department Fixed Dome Cameras where we develop, deliver, and maintain the software for a broad range of Axis products.

We are a dedicated team of developers with diverse experience and knowledge. Our work is guided by agile principles, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a strong sense of shared responsibility.

What you'll do? Your typical day will likely include one or more of the following:

• Collaborating on new features and designing effective solutions.
• Working closely with your team, sharing knowledge and offering support.
• Participating in daily stand-ups to keep everyone aligned, maintain momentum, and quickly address any issues.
• Analyze, design, and write software for features in our upcoming product.
• Expanding your knowledge and pushing your boundaries with the support of helpful, knowledgeable colleagues.

Who are you? We are looking for a team player that loves challenges, has a great passion and curiosity for technology, and loves solving problems in a team-focused atmosphere. We believe you have a strong personal drive, view knowledge sharing as an essential part of your daily routine and are inspired by working in an environment of openness, creativity, trust, commitment, playfulness, and encouragement.

We'd love to hear that you have:

• A few years experience working with C and/or C++.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and take ownership within a team.
• Experience working in agile teams.
• Familiarity with Linux system programming, user space, kernel space and device drivers knowledge.
• An engineering bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering or equivalent.

It's a bonus if you are interested in:

• Experience with debug tools such as GDB and Valgrind.
• Interest in or experience with Rust.
• Scripting skills - shell, Python, Perl.
• Low-level programming, e.g. microcontrollers (MCU).
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern build tools.
• Curiosity about AI-powered development tools.
