Arbetsbeskrivning

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

What you will do

At Volvo CE you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. Your work will shape the system architecture for our HMI and Infotainment platforms, ensuring that display systems, interaction models, UI frameworks, and infotainment features work together as an intuitive and scalable operator experience. You will define architectural direction, balancing user needs, safety, technical constraints, and long‑term platform evolution.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with UX designers, software teams, verification engineers, feature owners, and fellow system and software architects to secure alignment across the full development lifecycle. You will also work directly with partners and suppliers to integrate external technologies, influence technical roadmaps, and ensure that delivered solutions meet our expectations.

By driving platform strategies, guiding implementation, and supporting verification activities, you will help create robust, user‑centric HMI and Infotainment solutions that deliver consistent value across our machine product offering. This role suits someone who enjoys complexity, systems thinking, and building long‑lasting foundations for best-in-class operator experience.

Your future team

You will join a diverse and experienced HMI Software team that values creativity, systems thinking, and engineering excellence. We collaborate across domains from UX and services to embedded software and we learn continuously from each other.

We are excited to welcome a new System Architect who enjoys open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and building the next generation of operator experiences.

Who are you?

Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. We are looking for a systems‑minded architect who enjoys solving complex problems by creating structure, clarity, and alignment across teams and technologies. You combine strong architectural thinking with an ability to collaborate broadly, bringing people together around a common technical direction and translating stakeholder needs into robust, scalable system solutions.

In this role, you bring strong experience in systems engineering and/or system architecture, with the ability to define end‑to‑end solutions, interfaces, and long‑term platform direction. You have a collaborative and influential working style, enabling alignment across UX, software, hardware, verification, product management, and operations often without formal authority. You are comfortable balancing strategic and hands‑on work, moving between roadmaps and architectural principles to specifications, trade‑offs, and detailed decision-making.

You take a holistic perspective on quality and lifecycle, including requirements, integration, verification, and continuous improvement. You communicate clearly and structure complex information in ways that build shared understanding across diverse stakeholders. You are confident driving architectural decisions in a context of parallel development tracks, evolving priorities, and multiple contributors, including suppliers and partners. Above all, you are curious, open-minded, and eager to understand our our products and our operators.

Experience within HMI and/or Infotainment, such as display systems, interaction models, audio/media, bluetooth, input devices, embedded platforms, or user-facing connected features is considered highly meriting. Familiarity with user experience principles, operator interaction needs, and collaboration with suppliers in these domains is also advantageous.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a solid package of compensation and benefits, plus you will enjoy:

  • A key role in defining the future of HMI & Infotainment in heavy machinery, shaping how operators experience our machines worldwide.
  • Opportunities to influence long-term platform strategies within a large, advanced and global product development organisation.
  • A collaborative culture where experience, open dialogue and knowledge sharing are truly valued.
  • A stable, forward-looking employer with strong focus on technology, innovation and sustainable development.

We value

Pragmatism over dogma. Solutions should work in real-life contexts. Collaboration and dialogue over top-down control. Continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing.
