Assignment Description
An international organization is seeking an iOS Engineer specializing in system-level development, background services, and platform logic. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys understanding how systems work under the hood and building stable, scalable components that run reliably at scale.
The assignment is a consulting engagement where you will be employed by Zcelero AB and work on-site with one of Zcelero’s clients in Malmö.
You will work with long-running processes and services where robustness, performance, and reliability are critical. The role involves designing and implementing components that handle asynchronous flows, concurrency, and low-level system interactions in an efficient and secure way.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders, contributing to architectural decisions, code quality, and the continuous evolution of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain system-level components and background services within iOS
Design and implement robust and efficient solutions for long-running processes
Work with concurrency and asynchronous programming (e.g. async/await, GCD)
Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and reliability
Analyze and optimize system behavior at a low level
Collaborate with engineers on architecture and technical solutions
Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and codebase
Requirements (Must-have)
Several years of experience in iOS development (Swift, Objective-C, or similar)
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system architecture)
Strong algorithmic skills and solid theoretical computer science knowledge
Experience with threading, concurrency, and asynchronous programming (e.g. async/await, GCD)
Ability to write robust, efficient, and fault-tolerant code for long-running processes
Strong communication skills and fluency in English
A genuine curiosity about how modern platforms and frameworks evolve
Nice to Have
Experience developing system services, frameworks, or daemons on iOS or macOS
Knowledge of security, privacy, encryption, or communication protocols
Experience working with complex or distributed systems
Familiarity with Bluetooth or other low-level communication layers
Deep understanding of modern Swift concurrency (structured concurrency, actors, async/await)
We look forward to receiving your application!
