Employment information Employment: Temporary employment Period of employment/Start date: As agreed Scope: Full time Number of positions: 1 Closing date for application: 31 March 2026 Campus location: Eskilstuna Department: Engineering Sciences Position description The purpose of the position is to provide the employee with an early opportunity to develop independence as a researcher and to create the conditions for further acquisitions of qualifications after completing the doctoral degree. The position is a temporary employment with a maximum period of 3 years. As a Postdoc your responsibilities will include:  • participation in industrial research projects on circular economy, lifecycle assessment and automotive industry, • active collaboration with industrial partners on lifecycle assessment, • possible teaching on the topic of lifecycle assessment, • supervision of master and PhD students on the required topic, • writing and submitting research project applications, • writing and submitting articles to peer-review journals. Qualification requirements The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Industrial Systems, Industrial Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Engineering or related engineering fields. The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period. You have not previously held a position as a postdoctoral researcher in the same or related subject area at MDU that exceeds one year.  The applicant is also required to have research experience on the topic of circular economy, lifecycle assessment, and automotive industry.You also have experience of research collaboration with industrial companies, particularly within the manufacturing industry, in the areas of circular economy and lifecycle assessment.   In addition, you have experience of working in research projects and a strong ability to publish scientific articles related to circular economy and lifecycle assessment. You need to have excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.  Assessment criteria For this position it is considered a merit to have: • Experience of working with circular economy and lifecycle assessment. • Experience of working in a research project on a related topic. • Experience of research collaboration with industrial companies.  • Publications in well-ranked scientific journals • Experience of teaching on the topic of interest     In an overall assessment of suitability, emphasis is also placed on personal abilities.
