NKT is seeking a Design Engineer to join our growing global R&D department in Alingsås. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of high-voltage cable accessories that enable renewable energy transmission across the globe. You’ll be part of a collaborative technology community with deep knowledge in materials, design, simulation, and testing—working together to create innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Design and develop cable accessories for green energy As a Design Engineer at NKT, you will be responsible for developing advanced accessories for high-voltage AC and DC cable systems. You’ll collaborate with engineers, specialists, and test facilities across our global network to ensure technical solutions meet evolving customer and environmental needs. Your work will directly support the transformation of energy systems toward sustainability. Your responsibility will be to: • Design and develop cable accessories for high-voltage systems • Create concepts using 3D CAD tools • Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) • Plan and evaluate simulations and verification tests • Produce final designs and technical drawings You will be based in Alingsås and report to Sridhar Alapati, Manager R&D Accessories. Occasional travel (5–10 days/year) to domestic and international sites is expected.
