Data Engineer - Consultancy Opportunity Start date: ideally 2025-November-10 End date: 2026-March-31 Type of employment: fix-term contract (consultancy opportunity) Place of work: Malmö, Skåne County Way of working: hybrid 3 days / week on-site Language: Swedish and English Our client's Data Management team is leading the initiative for Data Management and Data Governance. They play a critical role in implementing processes, methods and tools to support the organization in working with data and ensuring that trusted data with clear ownership is made available for reporting, digital solutions, automation and AI driven analytics and reporting. About the role:They are looking for a Data Engineer with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in DBT, Databricks, and a great understanding of data Lakehouse architectures to deliver in one of the data teams, "Network Operations" or "Asset Management". Key Responsibilities: * Contribute in the design phase of data products. * Develop and optimize data pipelines for data products using DBT and Databricks (and potentially streaming data in Kafka). * Work closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, analysts, other data teams and/or application teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data products. * Implement data governance, testing, and CI/CD best practices to ensure data integrity and operational excellence. Required Skills: * At least 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or similar role. * Proficient in SQL, Python, and modern data transformation frameworks such as DBT. * Expertise in Databricks (Spark, Unity Catalog). * Solid understanding of data lake and data Lakehouse concepts (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta Lake). * Demonstrated ability at working with Git and preferably Gitlab. * Excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating across disciplines to deliver data products that drive business value. * Experience in Kafka is a great merit.
