Arbetsbeskrivning

Electroactive covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have great potential in the mixed electronic-mass transport due to their highly designable scaffold structures. The use of COFs as transport media in organic electronics can facilitate the development of future technologies, such as neuromorphic computing. With a well-developed key technology in our group, you will be expected to carry out cutting-edge research on this topic of the highest scientific importance. Information about the division and the department The Yang Group is a materials science based research team in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, which has established academic strengths in the field of fundamental and applied research within chemistry and chemical engineering. Its research activities range from fundamental chemistry, pharmaceutical and biochemistry, materials science, renewable energy, to chemical engineering processing, as well as theory and modelling. The research in Yang group focuses on covalent organic frameworks (COFs). By combining chemistry and engineering strategies, we develop COF membranes with versatile built-in nanochannels for various transporting abilities. By studying mixed transport dynamics in COF membranes, controlled co-diffusion processes are realized to serve (bio-)electronic applications. The aim of this position is to develop electroactive COF membranes for the application of electronic devices, e.g. electrochemical transistors. You are expected to synthesize the electroactive building blocks, fabricate highly continuous COF membranes, as well as participate in collaboration of device study with collaborators. Experience in dynamic covalent chemistry, interfacial reaction, and skills in membrane characterizations are important for the project. Major responsibilities As a postdoctoral researcher, your primary responsibility will be to conduct independent research as part of our team. Your role will include:  • Developing electroactive COFs and their high-quality membranes • Constructing COF-based devices and exploring functionalities under interdisciplinary collaboration • Contributing to academic and societal collaborations Qualifications • PhD degree in organic /polymer chemistry or equivalent field • Knowledge and practice of dynamic covalent chemistry • Experience in organic synthesis of porous organic materials • Skills in instrumental characterization of powdered materials and membranes • Experience in using Materials Studio software • Effective communication skills in written and spoken English Meritorious • Experience in publishing on high impact journals, such as Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, etc. as main author • Experience in research of charge transporting process Contract terms This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two/three years.
