Our purpose at Seat’s department is to provide Volvo Cars customers a unique luxurious, comfortable, and safe premium experience. We are responsible for development, launch and maintenance of seats for all our cars. Our diverse department consists of approximately 100 persons with different competences and backgrounds located in Gothenburg and Shanghai. We work in close collaboration with our suppliers, other internal departments, and stakeholders to deliver quality assured seats at the right time and at the right costs to vehicle programs. We in the Seats department are continuously working towards defining what products we develop for future mobility. But most importantly, we are on a journey to redefine ‘how’ we develop our seats and take control of our products. And we now invite you to be part of this exciting journey.
What you'll do?
The Seats Program Manager will be the responsible and key person for managing program execution in all phases from engineering to launch. This requires program manager to report to seat department management team to ensure strategy and execution alignment but also lead a cross-functional team and manage the communication flows with stakeholders and attributes.
- Plan, organize, and orchestrate all activities in regards of the business strategy.
- Drive all activities related to building up an efficient workflow including validation plan and readiness criteria with engineering, manufacturing engineering, procurement, pilot plant, manufacturing plant, test departments, suppliers, supply chains, quality etc.
- Participate in and lead various “cross functional” project and readiness forums.
- Provide clear updates on project status, summaries, and recovery plans as necessary at both working and executive level.
- Manage time and cost related to project.
What you'll bring?
• Technical education, minimum a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• 10+ years of automotive interior experience including 5+ years in program management of seats (preferable on the supplier side).
• Experience of at least one seat project launch at supplier or OEM.
• Leadership and project management experience.
• Understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to complex new products (methodology, validation plans, associated KPIs).
• Great understanding of design for manufacture, process design, process validation, and assembly methods.
• A driving license (category B) is an advantage.
