Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems using CATIA, focusing on detailed engineering and precision design.
- Manage and supervise the creation, versioning, and release processes of mechanical design documentation, ensuring design maturity and quality.
- Collaborate in the production of installation, production, and maintenance drawings, including complex industrial and schematic layouts.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards accurately across all design projects.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, supporting configuration management and ensuring project consistency.
- Provide expertise and guidance in the design of mechanical apparatus for scientific facilities, especially in accelerator and detector environments.
- Engage with multidisciplinary technologies, including vacuum systems, gas flow, magnetic fields, cryogenics, and electrical/electronics, as part of design work.
What you bring:
- A higher technical or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of CAD-focused mechanical design experience, with a minimum of 2 years of proficiency in CATIA.
- Solid experience in design maturity management, version control, and release processes.
- Strong expertise in GD&T and its application within mechanical design.
- Previous experience in scientific facility environments, particularly in complex settings like accelerators and detectors, is a plus.
- Familiarity with technical documentation and configuration management.
- Additional experience with technologies such as vacuum systems, gas flow, magnetic fields, cryogenics, or electrical/electronic components.
- Prior experience in project engineering or supervisory roles within mechanical design is beneficial.
