Our team is part of the After-Treatment Technology. We provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution of complete products, for all Volvo group customers. Responsibilities included in this role are to improve competitive market position by keeping abreast of state of the art development in the After-Treatment Technology related functions for the powertrain system for the Volvo Group and applying the new knowledge to the designs. We work here with pride and fun, valuing team spirit, work-life balance, people development, engineering challenges, and innovation. Our team promotes sustainability by not only creating aftertreatment systems that are emissions compliant globally and maximize customer uptime, but also by being able to diagnose the effectiveness/health of our systems over the lifetime of the product. Inside the Role The responsibilities of this group are to design and develop aftertreatment controls and diagnostics. These responsibilities include meeting regulatory requirements contained within emissions and on-board diagnostics (OBD) legislation while balancing a broad spectrum of boundary conditions in varying environments and vehicle duty cycles. The person in this role will lead the design and development of complex OBD powertrain components and systems by applying engineering principles that set the industry benchmark for performance, fuel efficiency, cost, reliability and safety. You will also be responsible for developing real time and post processing algorithms used to analyze machine data for failure prediction. You will develop algorithms used to analyze machine performance, efficiency, and application metrics, and evaluate alternative Machine Learning tools and models. It will be within your role to collect and evaluate large data, to test new software functions together with the control software development team, to optimize your field of responsibility in the most efficient way. What you will drive As a Senior On-Board Diagnosis Engineer your responsibilities will include: * Operating world-class heavy-duty engine dynamometer test cells. * Being responsible for efficiently and accurately executing test procedures while concurrently reviewing testing results to ensure reliability of data It will be within your role to collect and evaluate large data, to test new software functions together with the control software development team, to calibrate and to optimize your field of responsibility in the most efficient way. You will also be able to test vehicles in different environment conditions which requires a willingness to travel worldwide. Calibrate on-board diagnostic functionality pertaining to the aftertreatment system catalysts, filter, sensors, and other technologies. Understand and interpret emissions and OBD regulations in context of how the requirements will be fulfilled. Verify OBD monitor performance and robustness through data analysis from trucks, test cells, and other source. Plan, conduct, and interpret results from development and verification testing. Innovate OBD algorithms and concepts with respect to future certification requirements. Perform calculations by applying the latest analytical methods in support of monitor testing and design. Data analysis, simulation, modelling, and optimization. Issue written and oral reports Who are you?
