Job Description

Farm Heroes Saga is one of King's biggest and most cherished game titles. We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Game Design Director to join our team, whose primary focus will be to level up the creative vision for Events, grow the creative talents of our team members, while improving creative aspects of our game, growing our audience, and forging stronger connections with our players to boost engagement. In this role, you will report to the Product Director, Events and collaborate closely with the game's leadership team and a multidisciplinary creative team.

Your Role Within our Kingdom:

  • Contribute to Creative Vision: Partner with the Product Director, Events to create and refine an appealing creative vision, making sure it matches our event strategies and align with Farm-wide Product strategy.
  • Manage Game Design: Lead the end-to-end process of designing events within your area, from exploring and experimenting to refining and executing.
  • Craft Development: Manage and mentor a team of artists, game designers and UX designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement among team members, while actively promoting cross-functional collaboration.
  • Encourage Growth and Innovation: Collaborate with Artist and Designers across Farm to create a working environment that enables Area members’ growth. Coach, support and challenge other leaders to contribute to this.
  • Maintain Design Excellence: Manage and improve design procedures and standards, guaranteeing high-quality design in our in-game events.

  • Use Insights for Design Solutions: Use information from user research, market analysis, data analysis, and A/B tests to make strong game design solutions for our events.
  • Work Together on Feature Roadmaps: Work with UX, Game Design, Developers, Producers, and Product Managers to make a feature roadmap that helps our players and makes events more engaging.
  • Seek Stakeholder Feedback: Actively seek feedback from different stakeholders to make sure the design process is inclusive and comprehensive.
  • Improve Communication: Bridge the gap between people from different roles to ensure clear communication, making the design process smooth and efficient.
  • Lead Creative Excellence: Champion creative excellence within the team, driving design innovation, keeping the player in mind for all aspects of event development.


Skills to Create Thrills:

  • Design Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading design teams in the free-to-play casual games industry, especially in events.
  • Comprehensive Creative Knowledge: Solid knowledge of game design, art, UI, UX, player research, and economy design.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Outstanding people leadership and line management skills, with an emphasis on coaching and developing creative teams to their full potential.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in an agile environment and influence stakeholders.
  • Live Game Development Expertise: Experience and understanding of live game development and operations, with a focus on events.
  • Detail-Oriented and Hands-On: Strong focus on well-documented creative processes and meticulous attention to detail in event features.
  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of the games market and current consumer expectations, especially in relation to events.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Comfortable with metrics and data-informed decision-making to guide event design and implementation.
