About this work area

We are looking for a passionate and motivated software engineer who is excited to use technology to make everyday life better for our IKEA co-workers and have fun doing it. To achieve our collective IKEA mission of making everyday life better for the many people, we in People Domain believe we achieve that by making our co-workers life better by providing them with state-of-the art IT solutions to do their jobs!

In the People Domain, People Planning subdomain, we are working in the capability area called Strategic People Planning. Our mission statement is to proactively understand how many people we need – where, when, and for what purpose – so that we may effectively recruit and/or position our people to best meet the needs of our customers and the business with mid to long term planning.

Strategic People Planning is a niche and a differentiating capability area within Ingka that has the potential to grow big with a diverse solutions portfolio containing both home-grown and commercial off-the-shelf products.

About this work area

Within the People planning sub-domain, together with you, we build and maintain systems that give our planners across functions the digital tools to support them in their planning journey.

With our home-grown products, we get to work with the latest technology stack that is relevant for Ingka’s software ecosystem including but not limiting to Cloud technologies such as GCP, good mixtures of several frontend and backend technology frameworks such as React, Node JS, etc.

We encourage our team to explore various technology stack to solve our business problems. Being DevOps is the way forward for our team and we use automated CI/CD pipelines to free us from any sort of boring manual deployment tasks.

We expect you to have a minimum 3 years of experience as software engineer with similar level of experience in the assigned tech stack as well as experience with cloud computing environments. It’s also preferable if you have good ability to communicate technical concepts and processes clearly at an appropriate level to team members and relevant stakeholders.

Applying and adhering to good software engineering practices such as automated tests, pair programming, code reviews. Collaborating in an agile/iterative cross-functional development environment.

We’re a global team based in Helsingborg. We are in close cooperation with the other teams in People Planning which we share our knowledge and findings.
