We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Network team.

Our Network team is responsible for all aspects of Netnod’s network infrastructure. This includes provisioning of customer ports on the Internet Exchange, peering responsibilities for our DNSNODE anycast network and DWDM line systems. Since we are a small team our focus is on automation and the stability of our platform.

As a Senior Network Engineer you should have proven experience in the technology industry with a passion for what you do. You are curious about new technologies and are experienced in designing and developing robust and secure solutions. You enjoy solving problems whatever they may be.

Your responsibilities will include the design, development and maintenance of reliable and secure systems used both internally and externally at Netnod. You will work as a member of a team of engineers, both employees and consultants.

Key responsibilities

- Participate in, and in many cases lead, the testing and deployment of new solutions in our production network.

- Participate in, and in many cases lead, the planning and implementation of the future architecture of our production network.

- Help debug and resolve problems in our network environment using a systematic problem-solving approach.

- Ensure that the observability of all our systems is set up according to best practices and that matching documentation is regularly updated.

- Identify repetitive tasks and help automate them.

- Influence and improve the team's processes and ways of working.

- Take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of requests, which includes designing, planning, implementing, testing, documenting and delivering results.

Qualifications

- You are an experienced Network Engineer or Network Administrator with a good understanding of Linux systems.

- You are familiar with DWDM line systems.

- Excellent knowledge of routing protocols mainly on ISIS, BGP.

- Excellent knowledge of Layer 2 protocols including but not limited to VARP, HSRP and STP.

- Familiarity with the peering and the purpose of an Internet Exchange in the ecosystem of the Internet.

- Experience of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.

- Knowledge of DNS, NTP, IP and IP routing

- Good interpersonal skills and a sense of drive

- Good language skills in both English and Swedish

Note: This role is covered by the Swedish Legislation on Protective Security act and is subject to security screening and background checks. For this reason, Swedish citizenship is required for the role.

Location

This role is located at our office in Solna, Stockholm. The role reports directly to the Head of Network.
