Powertrain Testing

The department is part of the Powertrain Area, and our main mission is to meet current and future requirements for development testing within the entire powertrain area. That includes electric machines, drivetrains, combustion engines, gearboxes, aftertreatments, and more. Some responsibilities in parts of the department, cover the entire Scania Technical Center, eg Test Rig Development. The main tasks include follow-up, reports, and analyses of both cost and investments. We strive to make the role more strategic and analytical and work with continuous improvement. The location for the position is at Scania's development centre in Södertälje.

Job summary

The Business Controller will be a member of the Powertrain testing management team and perform work related to financial analysis, financial forecasts, financial planning, and follow-up.

You will support the management as well as the organisation with cost calculations, cost simulations, targets, performance reports, headcounts, etc. The task will demand qualitative, timely, and relevant economic and financial information. To achieve our goals you will work closely with the head of powertrain testing and the senior managers.

The position involves many contact points within the R&D organisation and you will work cross-functionally with other controllers, a close cooperation with the controllers at the central function is also important.

In this position, you will be responsible for the indicators, costs, investments, and target definitions, and follow up on the actual results.

Your main responsibilities

Your organisational position is in the Powertrain management group, and as a Business Controller, you are responsible for having overall control of all costs by participating in the management team's work and also supporting the Department Manager and respective section with different questions. As the department handles a large part of R&D's investments, you are an important part of preparing R&D's 1 to 5-year investment plan. You will, in addition to the Powertrain Management Team, work in a network with other departmental controllers and have regular contact with R&D Business control.

• Regular cost reports:

o Forecast and follow-up

o Monthly outcome

o KPI

o Test hours/project

o Deviation analysis

o CRE answers

• Work with investments:

o Annual investment plan

o Prepare respective part list

o Investment follow-up

o Planungsrunde (1-5 year investment plan)

Who are you?

We are looking for a person with a controller background and the ability to support and influence an organisation toward performance.

You have a great interest in problem-solving and will support the senior managers with a general understanding of their operations and challenges. You will work in a dynamic environment with complex duties that require analytic and problem-solving skills. To succeed in the role you must be able to focus on the details without losing the ability to see the complete picture.

Furthermore, you have

• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Strong social and communication skills for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders

• Proficiency in reporting and forecasting applications

• Extensive experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably Power BI

• A university degree in economics or finance

• Several years of professional experience in:

- Financial reporting

- Auditing
