As a part of the Body Control and Road Contact department you will be an instrumental part of the team that “connects people to the road with innovative and world leading solutions for a safe and sustainable future”. We are a part of Vehicle Platform and our teams focuses on the hardware, electronics and software development of the wheel suspensions, wheels and tires and its related products. We are more than 100 curious and engaged engineers eager to deliver a recognized drive and ride experience for our customers whether the vehicle is in manual or self-driving mode. Our cross functional collaboration spans over many engineering disciplines from software and electronics to mechanical engineering. Our teams are dedicated to further evolve our safety heritage and develop solutions for our ultimate safety test to handle our climate changes. We have responsibility of research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers within the field. The position as System Architect has its focus leading our product development in concept phase but it also includes the industrialization phase and introduction to our customers. What You’ll Do As a System Architect you will be the departments interface between individual teams which work with their product portfolio towards all projects and project teams which work mainly within their project and connected time plan. In this role you will lead the departments work towards the programs in the concept phases, ensuring the deliveries and releases meet time, cost and performance. Doing this you have detailed knowledge of the area and the department execution and release plans. You lead and support teams in synchronizing cross-functional and cross-department deliveries, manage risks and dependencies. This will involve interfacing with Base Car, design, product planning and procurement to align short- and long-term strategies, product offers and sourcing tactics. You also work with Department Program Managers, Technology Manager, Engineering Managers and Department Manager to ensure strategies and execution alignment. Experience and Educational Background To be successful in this role we are looking for an experienced team leader with 5+ years of relevant work experience, specifically within chassis/wheel suspension development. You should have a strong interest in project management and leadership. You have an academic background and education on MSc or BSc level or equivalent. You need to be fluent in English (spoken and written) and with a driving license. You have experience within the vehicle development industry. You are comfortable in leading cross-functional teams. Assembling, guiding and driving teams to find cost and time effective solution to complex problems. Who are you?
