We are looking for a business controller to join the Group Business Controller team. You will work in Stockholm or Helsinki, and report to Head of Group Business Control, based in Stockholm.

The position

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is essential for the sustainability of this planet. Steel has been one of the most important materials for developing our society and it will continue to be so. In the roofs over our heads, in the bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB we are proud of our history and leadership in high-strength steel. But we are also aware that the production of steel is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. That is why we have developed the world’s first fossil free steel production and has committed to becoming largely fossil-free by around 2030. As part of SSAB you will be instrumental in realizing this goal and push for the green transformation of the whole steel industry.

Group business control at SSAB is responsible for analysing SSAB’s financial performance on a group level. SSAB consists of six divisions: SSAB Special Steels, SSAB Europe, SSAB Americas, Tibnor and Ruuki Construction and Division Other.

The role as Group Business Controller consists of both strategical and operational tasks. You will work closely with your colleagues within Group Business Control analysing the financial performance of SSAB on a consolidated group level. This includes collaboration with the divisional CFOs regarding financial performance as well as collaboration with SSAB group management.

Group Business Control is working on making reporting and the financial processes more efficient through the entire SSAB group and you are expected to contribute to this project. This includes best practice, processes and IT systems.

  • Analysing financial performance on a group level.
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Collaboration with divisional and group management regarding the financial performance.
  • Constant improvement of the financial processes.
About you

You have a degree in Finance, BA or equivalent (minimum bachelor’s degree) and solid experience of business controlling. Genuine interest in SSAB’s business and analytical thinking is important in the role. To succeed you also need to be proactive and open-minded and be capable to navigate both big picture conclusions, as well as details. You are able to work under tight deadlines in a complex business environment. In addition, good technical skills and willingness to learn new IT systems is required. You are able to identify and initiate improvement in the management reporting together with the team and have excellent communication skills, including being fluent in English. You are a team player with good collaboration skills.

To continue to drive a strong culture we are looking at behaviors, which are based upon our values:
