What you will do At Base Engine you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As our Global System Responsible you will be responsible for a defined area, with high technical complexity. You will provide input to product and system roadmaps, create technical specifications, drive the development from research/early phases of development to product maintenance, ensure the design fulfills the business targets and requirements.  To your help you will have two System Engineers, one is in Curitiba and one in Hagerstown, where networking and sharing of knowledge from each market is key to our CAST (Common Architecture & Shared Technology) strategy.  You will have a high focus on developing a robust system. To get there, you drive the work with system integration. Focus on models for the systems and have high focus and interest in control strategies for the systems. You will drive these topics together with a cross functional team with highly engaged engineers from HW, SW, diagnostics, and calibration teams. We want to have a working environment were new ideas and innovation counts. To support the development and the teams around you – you are also data driven and like to handle and utilize data. In this role, you will work in close cooperation with several of our development sites, such as Hagerstown, Curitiba, Lyon, and Bangalore. You will also work closely with cross functional teams within Volvo such as production, material technology, purchasing, testing (SW/HW) and virtual verification.  Your future team We are a team that consists of nine members, where we design the oil and CCV-systems components, like oil filters, oil pumps, electrical and mechanical oil regulation valves, we also have the global lubricant specialist within the team. You have been working successfully in an agile environment and you are a networker with great communication skills. You also enjoy learning others. Requirements for this position are to have 5+ years of experience of product development in the automotive industry and to have knowledge about systems engineering specifically within ICE. You should have a master's degree within mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, being fluent in spoken and written English. It is also a merit if you have experience of Volvo systems, tools and processes. What’s in it for you?
