Job Description

Above is now looking for a talented Industrial Designer to join our design team in the Stockholm studio. We are excited to connect with Junior / Intermediate Designers, depending on skill & experience level, with a preferred start date throughout Spring 2024.

The Role

As an Industrial Designer on our team, you will get the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary project teams on a wide variety of design & innovation projects for some of the world's most exciting clients. We believe in creating a culture where you, as an individual, can take responsibility for your work - but we also take care of each other as we navigate ambiguity, tackle challenging problems, and grow as a team.

You will be an integral part of our design team, and have the opportunity to proactively contribute to all stages of the design process, from research to concept definition, from hands-on prototyping to crafting compelling visualisations and strategic narratives. With a high-level of conceptual thinking, you will have direct impact in shaping excellent project deliveries through craft and creativity. You will get the chance to both drive smaller engagements independently, and often work in medium-large projects as part of cross-functional teams, acting as an ambassador of your discipline while collaborating with senior colleagues.

We create impact on many levels & horizons - from singular hero products with clear go-to-market trajectories, to multi-layered portfolio strategies and future visions alike.

What we are looking for

We are looking for inspiring, forward-thinking portfolios that show a progressive approach to industrial design and creativity, and believe you possess many of these qualities to excel in this role:

• Preferably 2-3 years of professional experience, and exposure to a multi-faceted agency workflow
• Ability to proactively navigate the design process, applying the right tools and fidelity any given stage
• Aesthetic sensibility and visual culture in harmony with a thoughtful, user-centered design approach
• A self-propelled, optimistic outlook. Desire to proactively shape our team culture & discipline at large
• A joyful, humble and collaborative team player that feels at home in multi-competence projects
• Fluid software toolbox, including CAD surfacing skills (Rhino or Solidworks) and high-fidelity render output in Keyshot. Other CAD, generative AI tools & visualisation platforms are a bonus.
• Ability to clearly visualise and communicate ideas and thought-processes to peers and clients alike, pushing strong storytelling narratives
• Problem solver with a hands-on prototyping mindset, knowing when to leave the digital space to explore and validate physically
• Understanding of materiality & design for manufacturing
• Positive impact and sustainability mindset
